A small workshop often needs something simpler than ticketing software: a clear list of sessions, a limit for each option, and a way for participants to change plans without asking the organiser to edit a spreadsheet. Roster provides that flow through one public board and private links for organisers and participants.
Decide what one signup commitment means
Use a board for one workshop or closely related programme. State the date, venue, expected duration, audience, and anything participants need to bring. Keep payment, medical details, and sensitive requirements in an appropriate separate process.
Create one slot for each meaningful choice
Slots can represent morning and afternoon sessions, beginner and advanced groups, equipment stations, or arrival windows. Make names distinct enough that a participant understands the commitment without opening a chat.
Set the real number of usable places
Capacity should reflect room size, instructor attention, equipment, and safety. When active signups fill a slot, Roster prevents another active registration there. It does not run a waiting list or take payment, so explain any fallback outside the board.
Let participants update or cancel their own place
Plans change before a workshop. The private participant link allows a person to move or cancel without an account, immediately returning capacity to the board. Important confirmations and last-minute instructions still belong in the group’s normal communication channel.
